Classes for professional dancers
We don't run regular classes for undergraduate, graduate or professional dancers, though some projects have a company class component which you may be able to join in with -- contact us for details.
Classes for Introductory and Quantum Leap programs
We run programs for a variety of age groups from 9–26. They focus on igniting, developing and presenting young people’s creative ideas and dance skills. We are not a dance school — we focus on building a deep understanding of dance-making through hands-on projects, making new dance performance works. We run classes to build the physical and mental skills you need to do the projects.

- Junior Licence to Move is our introductory boys dance class for ages 9–14. Using martial arts, gymnastics, physical theatre and hip hop as starting points, these classes provide a masculine environment to explore contemporary dance as a creative expression. The teacher is assisted by experienced boys from the Quantum Leap ensemble, giving first-hand inspiration to younger boys.
- The Junior Contemporary class is open to boys and girls aged 9–16, and provides an introduction to contemporary dance: movement styles, skills, creativity and technique, all in a fun atmosphere. It is highly recommended for anyone considering auditioning in August for our major junior performance project in 2010, Hard Yards — or as preparation to audition next year, or just to try a different style of dance.
- Quantum Leap Company Training: If you get in to Quantum Leap, you commit to a timetable of classes and workshops leading to performances. This will include weekly Quantum Leap Company Training — which builds strength, stamina, flexibility, and alignment, while developing your skills. Quantum Leap Company Training is available on Mondays and Wednesdays — you can do either, or both, as the two classes will always be different.
- The Senior Licence to Move KICK BACK series are specialist classes for boys and young men (14–26). Visiting teachers Marko Panzic and Rowan Marchingo plus local teachers will run in two series of four workshops. They start with hiphop moves and physical theatre skills, then take your dance to a new level of creativity and intensity. See seperate page for dates and details.
Cost
Classes are charged as a full term fee upfront at the beginning of each series — equivalent to $12 per class. Just come 15 minutes before the first class to register and pay.
Or, you can pay $15 per class casually, but you must arrive 15 minutes before each class to pay.
