QL2 Centre for Youth Dance in association with Fresh Funk are bringing two top interstate dance artists to Canberra, to inspire and challenge boys and young men (ages 14–26) to improve their dance.
Marko Panzic, performer and choreographer, has worked and trained in New York, Los Angeles, London and Australia. He has performed for Australian recording artists including Jade MacRae, Che’nelle, Cosimo DeVito and Vanessa Amorosi. He is a choreographer in the second series So You Think You Can Dance Australia, and will bring his well-known blend of hip hop and contemporary dance to week one of Kick Back.
Rowan Marchingo is a performer, a choreographer and Associate Director of Australia’s leading physical theatre company, Sydney-based Legs on the Wall. Rowan’s work ranges from large scale aerial dance on the sides of buildings to intimate works of theatre. Rowan will bring gymnastics, contemporary dance and physical theatre to week two of Kick Back.
Local hip hop specialists Geza Szanto and Caroline Wall from Fresh Funkwill be joined by Ruth Osborne from QL2 in weeks 3 & 4 to consolidate the material from Marko and Rowan, and present an informal performance in week 4.

“Concrete Solace” at QL2
Concrete Solace is a work by Melbourne’s youngest dance company, Phantom Limbs, comprised of James Welsby and Amy Macpherson. Amid a miniature sized city, this edgy dance work evokes and explores themes of urban parallelism as well as macroscopic and microscopic perspective distortion. Choreographed and performed by James Welsby and Amy Macpherson. 2 performances - 2nd April and 3rd April starting at 7pm for a duration of approximately 30 minutes. All tickets $15.
