Emerging Choreographers Project

Emerging Choreographers Project 〰️

The annual Emerging Choreographers Project (ECP) is QL2 Dance’s most unique project. Mentored by professional choreographers, young QL2 dance artists create their own original short dance works for a public season in our theatre at Gorman Arts Centre.

For young artists, the ECP offers an invaluable experience to explore their curiosity and develop their unique artistry as emerging dance makers.

For audiences, the ECP is an opportunity to see innovative works from curious, creative and talented young Canberrans.

CALL OUT FOR DANCERS

We are seeking dancers to join the adventure of the Emerging Choreographers Project 2025.

In 2025, seven senior QL2 dance artists are creating new, short works - Akira Byrne, Chloe Curtis, Calypso Efkarpidis, Jahna Lugnan, Lucia Morabito, Gigi Rohrlach and Maya Wille-Bellchambers. They are leading their own creative processes, guided by professional artists Alice Lee Holland and Emma Batchelor.

Choreographers have been working on their visions since August in preparation for rehearsals commencing in November. We are seeking ten dancers to join the project.

Dancers are required to be consistently available across six weekends, in the lead up to performances. (See rehearsal schedule below.)
