ALL IN by Dance Makers Collective (Gadigal/Sydney)

Award-winning contemporary dance company Dance Makers Collective (DMC) and Canberra Theatre Centre are thrilled to be presenting A Kamberri season of All In in 2026, DMC’s latest major production celebrating the power of dance to unite communities.

In creating All In, DMC worked with almost 40 dancers and choreographers from a range of dance backgrounds, including traditional and classical dancers from different cultures, contemporary dancers and street dancers.

All In, in true DMC style, brings together dancers from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, including local dancers, to showcase the breadth of dance going on in Canberra. So, we were wondering, could this be you?

DMC has invited Quantum Leap Australia to be part of this exciting production. We are seeking a small group of young dancers to learn some high energy choreography to perform with the company.

SELECTION CRITERIA

This is a professional performance season with Dance Makers Collective - an interstate dance organisation touring to Canberra - presented by Canberra Theatre Centre. The performances are ticketed and the performance venue is TBC.

  1. Dancers will be ‘invisible’ as members of the audience until it is time to join the performers onstage, so must be able to hold their cue independently (and sit quietly for the first part of the performance).

  2. Dancers will learn and perform set choreography to music, in unison. Dancers must have:

    1. Strong musicality

    2. Confidence counting music

    3. Precision in replicating and executing movement

    4. Strong performance skills

Professional choreographers will support the young artists to develop these skills, but proven ability to perform choreography, to music, with precision, is necessary.

Please watch the ALL IN tour edit for an indication of the performance.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS

This is not a Quantum Leap production and therefore logistics are not within our control. This event is produced by Dance Makers Collective (DMC) and Canberra Theatre Centre.

Quantum Leap will support a small group of dancers to take part in this production by facilitating the initial rehearsal with DMC in May at Gorman Arts Centre, facilitating monthly rehearsals with the dancers in Canberra May - September, providing duty of care for Quantum Leap performers during call times throughout production week and sharing information with dancers and families as it is available.

Information provided here is a solid guide for dancers and families but please be aware that this information is subject to change.

SELECTION PROCESS

The deadline to apply for this opportunity is 10 April 2026.

Applications will be reviewed and outcomes determined by Quantum Leap staff.

We will contact all applicants to advise the result of their application no later than Tuesday 21 April 2026.
